Come with me outside for a morning jog, will you? A few months ago I learned about barefoot running style and it changed my life completely. Before I changed to a raw plant-based diet I suffered from fibromyalgia, arthritic and chronic pain. Exercising or jogging were just out of my list.
The raw food lifestyle has helped to heal and overcome pain, depression and fatigue, but I was still unable to run freely without suffering from knee problems. Now, the barefoot running style has set me free! I can run in the morning, breathe fresh air and feel the earth on my feet!

It’s early in the morning and I really like coming to the park early
morning to breath some fresh air and feel the nature close to me, and…
I just wanted to share with you that it
hasn’t always been like that.
For those of you who may not know I have suffered a lot
of physical pain in the past before I changed my diet.
I used to have arthritis. And it was just really hard for me to do any type of exercise. I was already practicing yoga but very light yoga, just to ease my pain. But it wasn’t easy. It wasn’t a regular practice. I was taking medication very regularly. The pain was so strong in my body that it was even hard to go outside depending on the weather, or if it was raining.
A few months ago, well, I have been eating raw for almost a year – wow that’s amazing, I can’t even believe that – but a few months ago I found out about barefoot running. I’m using my five-finger shoes: can you see that? Since I found out about barefoot style it just changed my life, really. I don’t have any pain on my knees anymore. I set my myself free to run and enjoy that in a way that I’ve never experienced before.
I’m just really inspired about barefoot running style. And today, at the moment, I can’t wait to leave the house in the morning and come to the park for a jog. I’m just so happy that I wanted to share that with you how.
Changing to a raw food style diet has really opened my life to to new possibilities. Even small and big ones. But all these possibilities are changing Who I am and how I feel about life and fitness and health. I just wanted to share with you that you
don’t have to be a tri-athlete or a ultra-runner to start running barefoot or just start even running in any way you want to. Just… Just go.
If you want to try to barefoot running style I really recommend that to you. You will feel less impact on your knees, on your heels. In the beggining you will feel a lot of tension on your muscles, your leg muscles. But thats normal. So just take it easy, run for 10 minutes and do it again the next day. Just do it, really.
Just take that moment as even a spiritual practice for yourself. I like running, listening to my iPod, I really like listening to meditation songs when I run. I know, it may sound like, wow, it is so slow… But it’s really not. I take my running practice as a meditation practice. As I run, and as I feel the wind, the sun or the rain, I’m thankful for everything. I’m thankful for the healing that is coming towards me. And I’m thankful for the earth. And the universe. And everything.
