This is simple and you really only need a few things. You’ll need either an electric citrus juicer or a manual one will do, too. A little bit of elbow grease never hurt anyone did it? You’ll also need a masticating juicer for the carrots. If you don’t have either of these you could use a blender. Just cut your carrots up a little smaller and peel the oranges and put them in the blender. Once it is well blended, run the juice through a sieve and your juice is ready.
Remember to start by washing your vegetables, especially if they are not organic!
Ok, let’s start with cutting our oranges in half. I use 8 oranges to get about 800 ml of juice. Once you’ve done this, it’s time for the carrots. I’m using 10 carrots but you may want to use more or less to make your juice taste the way you like it. Cut each carrot in half and then cut each piece in half length-wise. Be careful not to cut your fingers! Put them through the masticating juicer now. And don’t forget to save the fiber! It can be used for many things to make your food healthier. Try using it on a raw vegan carrot cake or your raw vegan pizza bread recipe, for example. The fiber from the carrots is alkalizing and can help regulate blood sugar and reduce bad cholesterol LDL.
Some optional things you can do include adding ginger to normalise blood pressure and heart rate and increase metabolism and give you more energy. Or you can also add raw honey, which is a natural anti-inflammatory and also has antibiotic, neuroprotective, and anti-fungal qualities.
I know you’re waiting aren’t you? Go ahead and taste! It is sooo good!
